This is unbelievable, simply astounding
I'm sitting here in shock listing to this.

Mayor Nagin (NOLA) on a local channel gives an interview @ 11:00pm. One of the most disturbing things I've seen in a long time.

1. This is a major disaster, despite it not being as bad as could have been.

2. It's awful, but one funny statement...
Don't get me wrong, I love NO and watching this is heartbreaking.

But I did catch something the mayor said: "We have the full support of the Federal government, from the President on UP..." I guess that means Cheney, Rove and Rummy are on board too?

3. He said the twin spans are "totally gone"
Is that the bridge that crosses the causeway?

He was also talking about the need to get bodies out of the water and put into temporary morgues.

:(

4. Billions rebuilding New Orleans, or billions waging a BS war in Iraq?
That's a no brainer.. We can't afford both.

6. Unbelievable!
This is horrific! I hope this is not taken the wrong way, but is there any news on the zoo and aquarium? From the report, the French Quarter didn't suffer too badly, in comparison, and the Aquarium is just a few blocks south of it, but right next to the shore.
