Remember way back when this was just a tropical storm? Oh yeah, it was headed to Florida then...

Bush Ready to Assist With Katrina Damage Thu Aug 25, 3:27 PM ET

CRAWFORD, Texas - The Bush administration is ready to leap into action with help and resources as soon as Tropical Storm Katrina hits land, the White House said Thursday.

The storm gained strength Thursday and was expected to become a weak hurricane before making landfall overnight along Florida's southeastern coast. Even though residents of the heavily populated, hurricane-battered area seemed to be not too concerned about the coming storm, the federal government was taking no chances.

"The government is ready, we're watching and we're taking steps to make sure that people get to safe areas or take the proper precautions," said White House spokesman Trent Duffy, speaking from Crawford, Texas, where President Bush is vacationing until early September. "We're also moving to ensure that all relief and recovery resources are in place so that these efforts can take place real time following any storm event."

Amid intelligence briefings and a morning bike ride, Bush was being kept updated by aides on the storm's strength and travel path, Duffy said.

Where is all your action NOW "Mr. President"?

1. He's considering the possibility of maybe thinking about...
...the feasibility of pondering the allowing of the decision to release a *small* amount of the national oil reserve.

with McCain yesterday in Arizona and attend a fundraiser with his "have more" donors last night at the Coronado Hotel in San Diego.

Why should he worry his "balanced life" or his "beautiful mind" about all those people in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama that lost their homes, their possessions, their loved ones even.

Oh, I forgot, he might take a photo op in Mississippi, aren't him and that a**hole of a governor, Haley Barbour, good buddies?

Can you imagine what the corporate media and the Reich wing media would have said if President Clinton pulled a stunt like this during his presidency?

Once again, the hypocrisy of the Repukes and their supporters is just plain overwhelming.

5. I have always wondered where all of this cash goes as well. It might
be nice if what was left over when the individual in office leaves, the $ should go to pay down the national debt they helped put us in...:)
