One amazing photo from Alabama. Oil drilling platform broke free and crashed into suspension bridge. Another great photo of men helping children through flood waters on a small boat.

The video portion isn't very good. But the photographs are worth seeing to get a feel for what these folks are dealing with

4. The patches of grass along side it are the walls of the levee
It is hard to tell in a photo, but the sides are sloped earth with the top part having a barrier.

3. This is horrible...
snip from article linked in OP:

A 5-year-old boy found on the steps of an office building, alone and in shock. A couple, believed to be his grandparents, found dead. His mother and 8-year-old brother still missing.

7. Blown-out windows
in buidlings remind me of 9/11. Saw a photo yesterday of the Hyatt with a tattered US flag in front of a wall of windows with curtains fluttering in the breeze.

Backed-up water may cause another levee to break. This is horrible.
