Looting stories are being used to deflect from the situation at hand.
It is my opinion that they are pushing the looting stories to cover the reality that it is the have nots who are suffering. It was those without transportation who could not leave...It was those who depended on city buses who were told they weren't running...it was those with inadequate shelter, inadequate means of survival, who are at the heart of this. The rage I feel is growing stronger with each looting story I hear...and each survival story that isn't told. :(

1. Certainly ...
If the looters can be characterized as "bad people" we can then feel OK that tragedy struck them ... they deserved it, after all :sarcasm:

The more "we" vilify the victims, the better we can feel, because this proves really bad things don't happen randomly or to good people ... Ask Pat Robertson, he'll back me up on this :sarcasm:

3. You know it...How many times here in Michigan have we heard a story
of a killing in Detroit that "may have involved drugs". :(

9. ...or "what did they expect in THAT neighborhood?"
Well, gee they were extremely poor and they expected to work and raise their children the best they could.

2. I Am Not Hearing That Many Looting Stories
but, anyway, I think looting for food and water from a store is understandable. Looting for luxuries and consumer goods is not.

10. psyop: trying to demonize the victims to reduce sympathetic response
Very transparent. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the looters on camera were paid actors.
