How does the mainstream media get away with saying only 8,000 there? I know, dumb question, but God!

Mayor Nagin advises WWL-TV to the extent of damage in the city

6. Helping those in danger first
Like those hangging in trees, stuck in attics, etc. And most likely taking them to the dome.

9. Sounds like there's plenty of danger at the Superdome
From what I'm hearing they are trying to get the people out now. To bad it will be too late for some. Especially since this could have been avoided on Sunday. But all anybody had on Sunday was excuses why this couldn't be done then and assumptions that this was going to be a safe place.

"This is just too hot, too primitive, too uncomfortable for the patients and too hard to work in for the medical people," said Dr. Kevin Stephens Sr., head of the medical shelter in the Superdome.

Two people have died, according to Doug Thornton, a regional vice president for the company that manages the Superdome. He provided no other details"
