3. Just gave money
a local tv station is working with the Red Cross and taking drive up donations. I gave $30.00. If and when they ask for canned foods, and cleaning supplies, I'll give some stuff for that too. You should too.

5. If you can, donate blood every 6-8 weeks
Don't wait for disaster, just get in the routine of doing it. Blood is ALWAYS needed!

6. anyone know of any blood donation place...
...that can take donation using a 'butterfly' or 'children's' needle? I know the banks in my area cannot as it takes longer than they're allowed to fill the bag with the smaller needle. My veins will not accept a normal needle, so I can't donate unless a place can use the small ones. Any ideas around this?

7. I'm going to train today to be a Red Cross call center volunteer.
I'm unemployed, so can't donate money. I have a heart condition, so can't donate blood. I'm so grateful the national call center is located in my city so I can help in some way.
