September Protest needs YOU!
I know there are many DUers who are planning on going to DC for the huge (HUGH!) protest in September and I plan on being one of them. Still need to work out the details, find a place to stay (I'm driving - have room for three more people comfortably) but it is a done deal as far as I'm concerned. I've sat on the sidelines for too long.

What this post is for the people who have thought they would like to go but can't see a way or the ones who can't afford it or many of the other thousands of reasons. All I'm asking is for you to consider it again and see if there is a way you can work it out to be there. This will be a watershed moment where Americans are taken back their country. I feel it in my bones that this event will be remember in later years on the same scale as MLK on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, the Selma Marches, the Rosa Parks stand, and every person counts in this movement.

I know, jobs are still demanding your presence, family and personal considerations still beckon, money is short (or nonexistent!) and there will always be honest, valid and true reasons why a person can't make the trip. BUT, but if there is anyone who is still on the fence, still thinks there is a sliver of possibility that you can make it, there is one in a hundred chance you could work something out, please, please think about it.

Last night I posted (thanks www.truthout.org)about the prayer vigil held at Camp Casey and the pro-Bush/war people CROSSED THE ROAD and joined Cindy and the other residents to pray. light candles and sing together. We are finally reaching some of these people and we can't stop the momentum.

All DUers understand the many reasons a person can't make the trip. I'll carry your good wishes and thoughts and march for each of you myself so please don't think this is a slam at anyone who can't make the trip. This is just a simple plea to all that think they might could make it and can work out the details, just do it.

5. Have you tried the hostels yet?
I found one 5 blocks from the capital
A 10 bed coeed bunk. All claimed, sorry-
but the was 27 bucks a night per person.

I figure the only thing I'll be doing is
sleeping and farting in that room-
otherwise
I'm out on the street!

2. I cannot do it
My health is keeping me at home. I will be at a local protest and hope that all DUers who cannot go to DC will do the same. If there is no protest in your area, organize one.

6. I can't go for reasons I don't really want to get into, but if there is
a local protest, I'll be there. I'm guessing there will be protests in Austin and I can certainly drive up there.

7. Recommending. I can't go to DC but I will be in SF. I wish I could!!
I, too, believe this will be an historic event. I wish I COULD be there! 'We The People' need to see our own power. Don't expect the media to reflect that back to us. They won't. THEY ARE AGAINST US. We have to do it for ourselves.
