Shut up about looting... What about the poor folks in the Superdome?
They are starting to bring the wounded in there now... and I just heard that some man just jumped to his death from the rafters. This is horrific stuff going on now and here we sit judging these poor people from the comfort of our homes.

Just STFU.

The Dome is becoming a death trap and those people inside need help NOW!

Before Katrina even struck a doctor in the Dome said they didn't have the equipment to treat some of the already sick people inside. He talked about dialysis and how some of the people already there would need a treatment in a few days and he couldn't help them.

and it's only gotten worse since

4. Is the interior of the Dome flooding?
I haven't been able to discern that so far. I know there's water around it (last I read, knee-deep) but has it managed to infiltrate the interior of the structure?

Mostly

8. Yes, it's a terrible thing that has happened to the poorest of
the poor and yet some people try to apply their morality on victims who are trying to survive a disaster and in terrible circumstances.

12. And not only the dome
Let's not forget about all the other areas that were devastated. I agree with you on the looting bullshit, but I am thinking of all the other places that were hit.
I saw where 80 died in Harris County Miss, I believe it was and then the 30 in those apartment buildings. I saw that this morning and started thinking that the death toll could reach hundreds if not more.
This is all a bit too much to comprehend right now. I have to say though, I believe that the people of this country will come through. Most of us are observing this through the television and internet, but I can bet that the amount of help this is being set up right now is going to be quite impressive.

13. It is such a nightmare
and will only get worse.Temp housing is needed fast, more places to shelter these people. Was there no planning ahead for this? Surely they must do something and soon, this is a time bomb. I am watching this and feel so helpless, contributions help, did that. I went thru 3 hurricanes last year, yes it was rough, but no where near this! It will be a rough time ahead for this nation unless we start to come together to help pull all this country out of the mess we are in. It is time to put politics aside and decide that it is up to us to make this change, The administration or congress will not listen to us, and do not work for us anymore.

14. Its going to get worse
I just heard they are taking the injured there also, including broken bones and apparently worse. With virtually nothing except emergency power, how are they going to help ANYONE? My understanding is that no one can leave as of now, but they keep bringing more in? WTF? I'm sure once the emperor returns to WH everything will be okay. Do you suppose he has formed a plan yet on how to get Haliburton in there to "fix" everything?
