White House Announces Bush Doesn't Work From Texas
"President Bush was returning to Washington two days ahead of schedule to help oversee Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, the White House announced"

Here's a question. They keep saying that it's a 'working' vacation. That you don't have to be in Washington to 'work'. That he can handle the affairs of the nation from his ranch. That this is the modern age. He gets his briefings. He's in command.

Yet he can't help oversee recovery efforts from Texas?

Oh wait. I get it. It's all bullshit. Silly me. Like he's actually going to do anything to oversee the recovery efforts either.

1. They just outed him
He's lazy, even members of Congress do some sort of work at home in their districts. CNN just proved the President is a lazy bum.

2. Like Randi said, he's running away from Hurricane Cindy as
well as Hurricane Katrina.

11. I agree....
I think he viewed Ms. Sheehan as a "showdown" for his ego, during which he dare not flinch.

Now he has an excuse to evacuate the Crawford war zone to the relative low viz safety of the White House.

5. And Texas is actually a lot closer to the disaster areas
We are in the hands of a fool or a madman - which is worse?

7. Last week someone said there were renovations in the WH
and that was why he had planned to be in Crawford for 5 long weeks. That story is shown not to be true, either.

12. I picture what Clinton would be doing. He would be there already
He would be gathering engineers to solve the pumping of water issue in NOLA> He would have people already started on building a tent city. He'd have buses mobilized to take people there. He'd have delivered emergency generators to the Bowl so that people could see and cool down.

This is a perfect example of why we need an intelligent, proactive, caring leader.

15. And Another Thing!
"to monitor federal efforts to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina"

How the hell do they explain him able to monitor our efforts in Iraq for a month in Texas, but unable to monitor this?

It's not like I thought differently, but every time Bushco gets provably caught in a lie it makes me even more angry.
