500 trucks of water for ten days - FEMA
FEMA has 500 trucks of ice, 500 trucks of water and 350 trucks of meals ready to eat (MREs) available for distribution over the next 10 days.

Is this enough? How will they get them to people?

1. NO!
3 states with major hits. That equals to 500 towns would get 1 truck.

Don't sound like enough to me.

8. Me either. I was just watching a BBC video
of some Coast Guard rescues from people from their housetops "FIVE MILES NORTH of New Orleans."

I was shocked at that level of devastation, and so far inland, and such deep water still standing there.

More is needed, though.

5. More will come
Getting through the next couple of days is more important. From their we can figure out what to do. Plus we now have lot's of grain that we can't ship out of NO. No one has to starve if dipshit Dimson would do his job and lead.

4. It is a start,
But how in the hell are they going to get all of this to the people most affected? Roads are all under water, perhaps an airlift?

6. We better do something better than this
First of all 10 days ain't gonna cut it. That will only be the beginning. They are going to have to get people out of that area. They need to set up tent cities further north and then work on a better plan as fall is on the way. The sewage and dead people and animals rotting in the standing water is going to be spreading disease very, very soon in that heat.

7. How will they get trucks there with no roads?
or are they already in NO somewhere? Even then, how can people get to the trucks because the trucks apparently can't get to them.

9. I've seen the head of FEMA interviewed on TV, saying they will have to
Have emergency shelter and supplies for the effected folks for several months. They are planning much more than this.
