Quite frankly, I'm tired of having the GOP hijack morality...
Let me explain.

Morality is probably not the right word, but the GOP has done everything it can to convince the kool aid drinkers they are somehow the party of all that is "good." You know the whole compassionate conservatism thing.

I'm frustrated right now, so if the words aren't coming out right then forgive me. I ramble alot at times like these.

What set me off was a conversation by the pro-GOP guys I work with me, with regard to the tragedy in the areas affected by the hurricane.

"That's a bad deal, but when you live in a bowl below sea level, you are playing Russian roulette. Besides with all the sin that goes on in New Orleans it was only a matter of time before it caught up with them."

They also found a way to steer the conversation to Cindy Sheehan and people who are opposed to the war. "Maybe all those Democrats down there in Louisiana and Mississippi won't hate Bush so much now that he is going to save their asses" is a direct quote from that conversation. Another is "Yea, they can have one big Cindy Sheehan love in and run down the troops."

Nevermind the numerous holes we can shoot into that statement, that's not the important part. What is important is the EVIL at a time when we all need to be united as HUMAN BEINGS. These people are serious. The same people who purport to be good, church going, God fearing people.

But they have that lock. As if Democrats don't go to church, or donate to charity, or love their children.

I hope this post makes sense. As I said before I am really rattled right now.

1. All I can say, is, hell is going to be pretty crowded when the gang...
in power and their follower' clocks are up. I hope they pack light. Stay the course - just think of how hard the pendulum is going to swing back...(yes, I am trying to be optimistic, but it is not easy, I agree)

2. I'm trying to keep things in perspective.
It's times like these when I sit back and think to myself how in THE HELL did John Kerry lose to that dirt bag?

3. They are fake Christians, pure and simple.
What really gets my goad is, they are also the biggest sinners around. I don't judge, but based on THEIR ideas of sin, they are worst violators.

The problem is, it's hard work, I mean really hard work to be a good Christian. And, we know what their leader thinks about hard work and personal sacrifice!

8. Democrats have been dehumanized
It's easy to make those comments when you have an us vs. them mentality that doesn't involve a lot of thinking about reality. The GOP has capitalized on this aspect in their propaganda with "those evil/silly/limousine libruls" comments. I guess one can conveniently ignore the scores of Bush supporters who have been affected by the hurricane as well. In a way, it is like a bunch of dogs sniffing each other's butts and trying to say something more idiotic than another.

The problem is here: the GOP defines democrats. To most Americans, the Democratic Party is composed of straw men constructed by the GOP.

9. Could we have a president that doesn't even fake going to church?
There would be a huge outcry. The belief that you have to follow a strict 'black and white, right and wrong, good and evil' moral code based completely on a single book or else you're a horrible person is nothing but sickening. Especially when it is so evident that many of those who think this way are the ones that are so quick to judge the have-nots and other people that even their prophets say they should be helping.
