Blow-dried, airhead reporters are still saying people stayed in N.O.... |
|
...because of apathy. Well, aren't they special for having this whole thing figured out? Of course, nobody stayed because they're too poor, too ill, or too old to get out. Right, you comfy, well-fed, healthy asshole media whores?
(Jeanne Meserve and the reporter who interviewed Harold Jackson are officially excluded as subjects of this rant.)

6. And they sure won't be able to afford it in the weeks to come. |
|
But, if you saw I-10, you know that no amount of gas in the car will be getting anyone out of there, now.

7. Not only that but where would they stay.... |

I'm sure many don't have the money or credit cards to be able to stay in a motel or hotel. I'm sure they don't have money for food and drink either.

Where in the hell were they supposed to go? Most used public transportation and live paycheck to paycheck. I know I'd rather stay in my home than go to a shelter. Most people have no idea how the poor live and how marvelous and courageous they truly are. Brave when they're ill with no health insurance, industrious, hard workers who get miserly wages. The poor are the lifeblood of the wonderful city of New Orleans, and they will rise again because all of us in South Louisiana will help them, as will all the people in this great nation who love New Orleans and its people. Please contribute to the Red Cross, no matter how small the amount, to help all who are suffering in this horrific crisis.

10. Some people chose to stay |
|
This is hard to explain or understand. Some people just refuse to leave, even though they can. Maybe they are stupid, more like they are stubborn. Some dont trust the goverment. Some fear looting. Some would rather take their chances with the storm. Some dont think it will be that bad, some think it will be an adventure.
We go through this with the evacuations down here. Its weird
That having been said, there needs to be a better plan for those who want to leave but cannot.
I knew that superdome was a super bad idea. I'd walk out of town before I got stuck in there.
