CNN just put Operation Blessing will help NO - Pat Robertson started this
group, and while they may be good, I would much rather use American Red Cross before I'd put any money in anything the Radical Cleric Robertson is involved with.

M. G. "Pat" Robertson has achieved national and international recognition as a religious broadcaster, philanthropist, educator, religious leader, businessman, and author. He is the founder and chairman of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) Inc., and founder of International Family Entertainment Inc., Regent University, Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation, American Center for Law and Justice, The Flying Hospital, Inc. and several other organizations and broadcast entities.

Founded in 1960, CBN was the first Christian television network established in the United States. Today CBN is one of the world's largest television ministries and produces programming seen in 200 nations and heard in 70 languages including Russian, Arabic, Spanish, French and Chinese. CBN's flagship program, The 700 Club, which Mr. Robertson hosts, is one of the longest running religious television shows and reaches an average of one million American viewers daily.

Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation, founded by Mr. Robertson in 1978, is a non-profit relief and development organization with a mission statement "to demonstrate God's love by alleviating human need and suffering in the United States and around the world." OBI has touched the lives of more than 175 million people in 96 countries and all 50 U.S. states, distributing more than $750 million in goods. To help break the cycle of suffering, OBI implements programs that focus on the primary goals of providing hunger relief, medical aid, disaster relief, and community development that will make a significant, long-term impact on those in need.

1. Operation Blessing is a Front for Pat's financial operations
Some of Operation Blessing's less humanitarian activities have included giving aid to the Contras and mining blood diamonds.

5. Yep.
In Zaire he used unpaid labor, i.e., slaves, to build a runway for an Operation Blessing plane. According to the pilot, the runway was used to deliver precisely one small shipment of medical supplies, and was thereafter used exclusively to fly out shipments from the timber consignment that Mobutu gave Robertson as a payoff for his support.

God that man is a bloodsoaked criminal.

7. That bastard Robertson used planes bought with charitable contributions
to do his mining business. Robertson belongs in jail and his so-called "charity" should be shut down.

VIRGINIA BEACH, April 27 -- Airplanes sent to Zaire by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson's tax-exempt humanitarian organization were used almost exclusively for his diamond mining business, according to two pilots who flew them.
Three airplanes were flown to Zaire in September 1994 by Operation Blessing. However, chief pilot Robert Hinkle said only one or two of the roughly 40 flights during his six months in the country could be considered humanitarian.

All the rest of the flights were mining-related, he told the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot. Robertson refused to be interviewed directly, the newspaper said in today's editions. Calls to his office were not answered.

10. CNN - so what's new. CNN is a disaster. They will probably say that
Robertson deserves to be tax-exempt.

We are being taken, but not as much as the believers who send him oodles of green.

11. Giving to Robertson is just like giving to Bin Laden
they are both fundies, only difference is the religion. They both take the religious texts out of context in order to mold it in the form so they can preach hate.
