My list of Bush/Katrina questions. Please help me out here.
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 07:21 PM by tk2kewl

  1. Why didn't Bush end the his vacation last Friday
and help plan and provide money and manpower from the
    federal government for:

    1. the evacuation

    2. the rescue and recovery

    3. an immediate response by DOT,
Army Corp, NG to help repair levies

  2. How much did BushCo cut from
FEMA's budget for NO and did it effect
    the city's ability to:

    1. have a better evacuation plan

    2. provide services to evacuate people who didn't
have the means to get out on their own

  3. I have worked developing software for the NYC Dept. of
Emergency Management and I know that the city has hurricane
evacuation plans that include going into neighborhoods to
provide transportation. Why were there only warnings and no
actual government run evacuations in NO?

1. No answers here. Just another question:
How much of an effect would having the National Guard and all the equipment have had on the rescue efforts?

3. Perhaps
Bush and the Army Corps of Engineers should have spent some more money shoring up those levee's, before the storm hit, instead of giving the money away to Bush's campaign contributors with tax cuts.

5. Government must keep us safe by fighting the terrorists over there so we
do have to fight them over here. With limited financial and human resources, priorities must be set as slashed funding for the Corps of Engineers hurricane-related projects attests.

ARE YOU INSANE?

"Why didn't Bush end the his vacation last Friday
and help plan ...."

Do you think this moron can plan his own a bike rides, much less something important? Do you want him involved in any planning of anything?

:P

7. well, maybe i am insane
i don't think any president would really help "plan" for such an event, but i expect a president to "order" those agencies and services that can assist to plan, cooperate and mobilize and then ensure they follow through

8. yeah sorry
your post was serious and I probably shouldn't have done that - its my auto reaction when folks complain about his vacationing - we really don't want the guy working, could you imagine? So if the humor was ok - ok, if it was innapropriate - sorry.

10. That is what he did.. in the "offical" mode.
They were doing it anyway.

What is so unexpected is that he carried on like nothing major was happening.

Basicly, the NATION was in shock and in mourning. The President was seen out having fun. The two pictures don't jive correctly together. It showed he lives in a totaly unrealistic world then the rest of us.

He might not have actualy DONE anything to help. Seriously, think about who were are talking about here. But he should have kept his butt in doors. Gone to a "war room" and be seen for "pictures".. and kept his head out of the media.

What he did was disrespectful.

I can't think of ANY past President that would have acted the way he did. He is so un-involved.. it's sicking. And it's unbelieveable that HE would keep constant "up-dates", etc. He isn't able to handle the info. Clinton, his Dad, Dang, even Regean and Carter.. Yep, I could see THEM doing more then one thing at a time. But not the "Moron."
