A Question for DU Old Timers

I'm looking for words of wisdom right now. I guess I feel a little frustrated, mad and sad all at the same time. With the lack of leadership in this country, I ask you now...

Have we lost our country completely to these modern day pirates?

1. For all intents and purposes, yes.

The handful of actual Democrats in Congress are
trying, but have little support from the so called centrists.

And so many who should be fighting for Americans seem to be too busy profiting from the abuse.

2. The coming months and years will tell the tale..........

if something doesn't change and change quickly, I fear this country is doomed. The second great depression is about to begin, I know bush isn't up to the task of leading us through it. The country will have to demand a person that is. If Americans refuse to throw these bums out and get some real leadership, the country is doomed. Now is the time we'll see what Americans are made of. Are they men, or mice? My best guess, mice.

I live with Joe Sixpacks, and am doing a very small part to inform them as much as possible. It's really hard, because I get really pissed when I hear the ussual RNC responses. That's my prob though. I'm getting better at being patient.

6. No, not in the long run.

We will have a struggle to recoup our losses. However, we should never let our guard down again and let this happen again. We seriously have to study how this happened and then pass the laws, ammendments and whatever it takes to prevent a repetition. I think we need to start by taking money out of politics. I don't mean not paying taxes. I mean making it impossible for looters to arrive again helping themselves to our tax dollars. How this will happen, I don't know, but it certainly needs to be brainstormed.
