Faux: The Silence Is Deafening

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,167791,00.html

Maybe I missed it, but I have a question: Where's the global relief effort for us today?

New Orleans (search) is under water. Mississippi (search) is a disaster. Scores are dead. Homes are destroyed. Businesses are shut down.

1. He should wait 2 more days.
Then the nations of the world might acknowledge us.

It works both ways, it seems.

2. Venezuela, Russia and France so far.
But of course, don't expect Fox to know it. It's just a supposed news source.

3. Have we asked? How do we know there have been no offers?
And if, for example, France or Germany offered help, do you really think the Chimperor's monstrous ego would allow him to accept it?

8. Well, the asshat with the ego better rethink it.
I'm thinking we might need some help, and it could heal some really deep wounds if we could be humble enough to say, "hey, yes, thanks for your help."

6. Well, I remember seeing on Faux News...

a few days after the Tsunami last winter, Faux News proudly displayed a header on the screen proclaiming that the US had pledged a WHOLE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS in relief to Indonesia.

So maybe our generosity is being returned. It wasn't until we were shamed into giving real aid that we did.

11. That's exactly right!
BushCo's initial pledge for the tsunami was paltry, even Canada's pledge was much larger, and they are 10 times smaller than us.

9. The richest and most powerful nation on earth needs HELP?
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 08:47 PM by Spider Jerusalem
Or demands it as tribute? Whining little twat, this Cavuto is. "Oh, we helped those poor countries when they were hit by disaster..."

Well, the US IS NOT A POOR COUNTRY, you bloody halfwit. We have the capital, resources and probably the manpower to handle our own problems; the same isn't true of Malaysia or Indonesia. Anyone who thinks there's any logic or rationality to this line of thought is a fucking imbecile.

19. Absolutely! What are they going to send ? Food? Money?
That's not what these places need right now. And I can't believe the focus on looting! People are dying and these clowns want to know what's being done about some guy stealing a box of Pampers.

12. Other countries always offer aid
when the US has a problem.

It's usually turned down.

Duh Neil,

Maybe the jerk in office squandered any good will towards America by acting like a complete moron with an agenda, do you think?

I can't even believe you have to ask this, but you have always been slow on the uptake.

handle it? I wouldn't want bu$hco., Inc. getting their grubby thieving hands on it. Don't let Neil or Jeb near it.

17. I don't know - maybe I'm just stupid
But watching the news of all this destruction over such a large swath of the country, I'm thinking this has done more damage to more Americans than the attacks on 9-11.

Not in a lives lost way - but in a personal property, personal belongings way...

I'm seeing whole cities GONE - homes, property, businesses, just gone.

It's like the people in Louisiana & Mississippi just have to start over again with what they have on their backs. Food, water, shelter, job....

20. Um... how many Americans have cared about relief efforts...
... for those who are suffering from devastating floods and fires (and even drought and crop failure) in Europe? The famine in several African nations? How many are even aware of the moster typhoons hitting countries in the Pacific?
