A moment of thanks to all the emergency workers in LA,, MS, AL
I would like to thank all those who have responded professionally and non professionally to aid in the Katrina disaster response. I also, hope that they will be given strength to keep up their great works!

2. no kidding
especially those coast guard helicopter rescuers - they're doing an unbelievable job.

CNN reported they were refusing to take breaks, even when ordered to. They're real heros.

3. TO THE CIVIL AIR PATROL volunteers from all over the country
who are there, who I keep mentioning in threads that drop like rocks because I didn't put the word looting in them. :toast: You rock, cadets and senior members who have donated your time, your vehicles and your spirit.

8. As a Coast Guard veteran--
and Red Cross volunteer and a RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service - "Ham Radio") operator -- the responder community is a big community.

9. Sorry to jump on your post like that, but CAP Wings and squadrons
have been out there tirelessly, and I've posted a bunch of pics that have been taken and they drop like rocks. Just a little irritated that this great group gets overlooked every single time...they're the ones who continue rescue missions long after authorities give up.

10. I have no problem praising anybody - or any group - that
voluntarily puts itself in harm's way to rescue those in peril. That's the name of the game.

(The only downer is when a "rescue" becomes a "recovery" - been there)
