They should have started with the school buses last Friday.
And where are they taking people? Are there tent cities set up somewhere safe and dry? With food and water and sanitation?

Knowing that most of the people stranded there do not have a car, this should have been done when they gave the order to evacuate.

23. oh the sick, sad irony... |
|
With all their empty rhetoric about our National Guard being deployed to a different nation in order to keep us safe and to guarantee our freedom...New Orleans is gasping for every breath as she slowly drowns. Martial law has begun. Not my definition of safe and free.

14. But Governor of LA and CNN said all roads to NO are knocked out |
|
and they showed pictures of it all. The causeway, I-10 and bridges...gone. How can they get busses to get the folks out...and where will they take them. The Governor said that they are trying to find land to put temporary shelters..and that was around 3:00 today...they couldn't have land and shelters yet...plus she said she didn't know how they would get people out...but was hoping for enough food and supplies to keep people alive until shelter could be found.
All the hotels are filled so there isn't room to move folks there she said and even rentals are filled.

21. EVERYTHING IS TOO LATE. |
|
ALL of this -- transportation, shelter, food, water, sanitation, and medical help -- should have been set up in safe areas, ready and waiting, DAYS before Katrina made landfall!
Where the hell was the government we pay for? Where the hell was our leadership?
