Question about gas demand...
I heard that the current demand for gas is in fact false, and that oil companies are matching use gallon for gallon. Any information on this would be helpful.

1. I'm not sure what you mean
How is demand false?

3. Let me see...
I was told that the rise in gas prices is only due to artificial demand, and that there is actually enough gas being produced to meet demand gallon for gallon.

Consequently, I've been told that there is enough oil in Russia to flood the world's economies and drop gas prices to under a dollar....

6. You need to find another source of information
Here is a good place to start:

http://www.eia.doe.gov/

They have more facts and figures than one could ever digest.

Also check out their "Oil Basics Primer"

Indeed, supply will meet demand. It's just a question of "at what price."

Here's a couple of really good energy sites:

http://www.321energy.com

Edit: Fixing links.
