US Rep Gene Taylor (D-MS) Rode out Katrina in Bay St Louis |
|
His home was by the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club and got completely destroyed. We called his DC office to try to get more info on the Waveland area and his staffperson told us he rode the storm out in MS, I guess in a friend/constituents house. He is ok and roughing like everyone else in coastal Mississippi. How many other Mississippi politicians had the cahones to do this? He is reporting back to his office with a satellite phone or via ham radio at St Stanislaus in Bay St Louis, I'm not sure which. What a guy!

extremely impressed with Negin and the NOLA city council (and many parish council's as well).
They were there, in the thick of it. They have either been running things from ground zero (Negin), or out and actually performing rescues -- many NOLA city council members.
As bad as this is, we see the good side brought out in most.

4. Yes! This is his 3rd or 4th term! |

Don't stereotype all Mississippians as repukes! He represents coastal areas from Waveland to Gulfport and as far inland as Hattiesburg.
Give it up for Rep Gene Taylor. He is THE MAN for staying in the danger zone and I'm sure doing all he can for those trapped in MS.
Thanks Melodybe!
