1. Can't help but wonder how many people and animals are trapped
and in that picture. It's awful.

2. While Rome burns...

How out of touch is George Bush on this disaster?
by Rob in Baltimore - 8/30/2005 07:43:00 PM (Americablog)

I'm bumping this post back to the top because I just got home from the airport, saw Rob's post, and can't even believe Bush had the gall to do this today of all days.

Per AP,while tens of thousands of people are trapped in the Superdome in New Orleans, Bush played guitar in California. I'm not making this up:
President Bush plays a guitar presented to him by Country Singer Mark Wills, right, backstage following his visit to Naval Base Coronado, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005.

4. You'd think he'd learn, after his father did the same thing with Andrew
His father took too long to respond to Andrew, and was criticized in Florida, now his son is doing it, too.

5. *'s totally out of touch with reality.

The guy in the striped shirt looks like he expects the idiot to drop the guitar.

7. He has never KNOWN suffering...so cannot relate.
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 01:04 AM by Digit
He is not LIKE us.
His mother did him a disservice and overprotected him. He resents his mother and father realizing he is not normal.
He cannot fit "IN" and so must be insulated from normalcy.

6. I saw that earlier today
what's horrifying is the river level. It's already right up to the top of the levees, and the floodwater from what Katrina dumped further north hasn't even begun to come down.

10. Even if it doesnt top the miss levee, it stands a fair chance of busting
the levee, flood water pushing at it from the inside and higher up, miss water pushing it from the outside. If it busts, its all over for NO :(

11. I know. I am sick. Just emailed the whitehouse begging them
comments@whitehouse.gov
asking them to please send help, to put politics behind them and just respond to this emergency. I keep hoping it is not as bad as my negative mind makes it out to be but it seems to be.

12. How polluted do you think that water is?
Bacteria from decaying dead animals and sewage. Pollution from chemicals stored everywhere. Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.
