There are NO RESERVISTS left to help with Domestic Disasters
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 01:15 AM by berni_mccoy
Check this out:

http://www.spacewar.com/2004/040915201050.ed58ojoi.html

Basically, we were in trouble A YEAR AGO.

Bush sat on his HANDS with New Orleans because they CAN'T call upon the reservists or the guard...

They've either been used up serving in Iraq or are being kept FOR Iraq...

This is a follow-up to my earlier post here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=4517394&mesg_id=4517394

I couldn't figure out why Bush wouldn't call in the Army (Gaurd or reservists). Now I know why...

And they refuse to have a DRAFT.... guess what... they DON'T HAVE A CHOICE NOW.

7. The Red Cross does not do the same work as the National Guard.

Really, nothing at hand can replace the training and large number of reservists needed for a catastrophe such as this.

Edit: stupid typos.

2. They Pull The Draft Card -- And They Are Dead Meat
I have little doubt that they'll pull it. And when they do, this nation will eat them alive. There won't even be bones left. Just history.

4. They're in worse shape than the last time there was a draft...
They call for a draft now and they are not going to have a good time of it.

9. If the hospitals and other companies all over the country would...
Send a few employees from thousands of larger Companies (on paid leave)along with equip. and or materials for cleaning and building to help with the situation there like a citizens action network, this would do the job and would not hurt anyone. The huge companies could spend the money and it would not kill them, and others would be willing to take the slake of the ones that went to help as a Nation wide call to help in this disaster. This is what Pro Peace and real Patriotism is all about.
We don't need a draft!!

Just a thought

13. When I saw and read that the Navy has NOT responded
I knew that there is a major military personnel problem.

We've been hearing that the number of injuries (and perhaps deaths) are far higher than we are being told.

The military apparently is stretched to the limit -- and/or bushie has another invasion in the works and he is NOT about to put aside his war plans for his next war.

Bushie doesn't care -- he isn't running again -- all he has to do is run around the country raising money -- bribe money to dole out to the faithful who will do his bidding.

With the Navy missing in action I KNOW that something is horribly wrong with the military.

Also when so many of the national Guard were used to fight bushie's Iraq war there were warnings that if a major disaster struck there would not be enough National Guard left to meet the emergency. Apparently the doom and gloom predictors were correct.

I've already sent an email to my Senators and Congressman pointing out the lack of response from the Navy. I grew up in the Navy and know what their response in times of disaster was in the past -- and this is MAJOR -- and basically there has been NO response from the Navy.

The Army, Marines and Air Force would also respond -- to help the National Guard or to man equipment etc. We aren't seeing this sort of response -- thank god/dess for the Coast Guard.

IMPEACH THE BASTARDS.

15. At first, I couldn't figure out why the military wasn't there ALREADY
And that was Monday... I thought, Bush MUST be holding them back for some reason...

Then I started digging and found out that they have very few reservists left to call on... SURPRISE!

We are in VERY DEEP TROUBLE...

How would Bush respond to the next terrorist attack if the military has been spent?

The Dept. of Homeland Security has just been another channel for funneling money into Bush's buddies pockets.
