I've noticed something disturbing about the Fema reps or whoever they are
This was first noticed yesterday when I was watching two diiferent news programs about the aftermath of Katrina. The first one happened when the Gov of Mississippi was giving a statement. The third happened today.

* Now bare with me. I have no way of posting the video but did take still shots. I have tried to write verbatim what I am hearing as these facial expressions come into view.

okay first series was taken from The Weather Channel 8/29

Gov Haley Barbor (Mississippi)speaking..." I have instructed the Hwy Patrol and Nat. Guard to treat looters ruthlessly.."

The man on the right seems to smile very big when the Gov says "treat looters ruthlessly"

Second shots were taken of News Channel 32 WLKY 8/29 11pm news

Kathleen Blanco Louisiana Gov. speaking

notice woman on the left. Gov. Blanco " The roads are flooded, the power is out (the woman on left smiles a half smile), the phones are down (another half smile by woman on left), and there is no food or water ( a full smile is noticed right here by woman on left as presented in following picture).

Third series - Fox News @ 10 41 WDRB 8/30 Gov. Blanco again speaking...same woman is seen smiling

Gov. Blanco "The magnitude of the situation is untinable (small smirk by woman on left followed by 3 smiles as Gov Blanco tries to compose herself and keep from crying),it's just heart-breaking" (at which time woman to left smiles pretty obviously).

- now, flame if you want, but there is something very disturbing when you watch this footage. Everyone else is somber if not depressed looking except for these people. The first guy really didn't bother me. It's the woman that has sent chills down my spine. I am just assuming these people are with FEMA. I really don't know who they are. I am really starting to wonder if Louisiana is getting the help it needs or if someone is seeing to it that they are not getting the assistance that is needed and trying to basically take care of the poor and needy by means of nothing. This is just speculation on my part and not meant to say anything bad about the brave people down there trying to rescue and evacuate the city's.

2. No, you are confusing Senator Landrieu (female) with FEMA
You probably have a point on the guy with Barbour. But, Landrieu (D, Senator from LA) is extremely distraught and was having sort of nervous ticks--probably from exhaustion. She is extremely upset and was near tears in every press piece I saw. In fact, that probably explains the expressions...

5. Her face was jumping all over the place
..and she was on the verge of tears most of the time.

For the record, she defended anyone "looting" food and water or other necessities.

11. Yup. I've seen her wiping her eyes almost every time she's on TV.
I'd bet that she was making eye contact with someone off-camera. She's always looking in the same direction during these conferences.

3. The woman is Mary Landrieu
The Senator from Louisiana. I've seen the tapes today of her w/ the Gov. ; she's shellshocked, as I imagine everybody else is. This is their state, and they've seen more than most others how bad this is.

6. okay. now I feel a little better
I was really wondering why in the hell this woman was smiling at these words. It was really disturbing to me. I'm glad everyone seems to agree that these are nervous ticks.

12. I did not take it that way at all.
The 'looting' thing said by 'that man' would make me smile also. To feel for a women who is about to cry would also make me sort of smile but none of this in a Ha Ha way it is more I am with you and with the 'looting' I figured as much. But what do we know about looks> Bush sees a good soul in Putin's eyes.
