Katrina...the big, fat Bush mythbuster
"I feel safer now."

DO YOU??? DO you people feel SAFER with a man whose vacation got screwed because that damned storm hit in August?

DO you feel "safer, and more secure" looking at those people sitting on rooftops waiting for their fearless leader to send more people to help them?

The non-response to this storm has made me so upset---I need to turn off the computer---I don't feel like I live in the US anymore....I feel like this must be what it feels like to be rich (we are not, but I have more than the people in that hellhole right now) and of the right color in a banana republic.

Sickening.

1. The "real" terrorists must be loving it
(assuming they actually exist)

Laughing at another * screwup and seeing just how vulnerable we really are.

4. I agree!
If there are actual terrorists, they can hit us on any given day, any given time, any given location. It's the price we (and any) nation pays for a free society. Terrorists wouldn't need masterful and elaborate planning to cause us pain. We are very vulnerable.

3. Non-response... It's weird... where are all the helicopters and boats?
Why wouldn't there have been a disaster-recovery plan that required airlines to fly out evacuees before the storm hit on Sunday? Why were they allowed to cancel flights? Why wouldn't it be in the disaster-recovery plan that all ships in the area be immediately commandeered to provide evacuation now? Why wouldn't helicopters and rescue crews from all over the neighboring states already be there in droves right now? Why are still watching people sitting on their roofs, with signs saying "Help! 10 civilians here, some can't swim!" TWO DAYS after the storm passed? Where was the plan?

5. Shouldn't the PRESIDENT have been off vacation and making plans with
his staff to deal with this from at least a day or two BEFORE the storm's landfall, since the wiping out of a major American city was one of the possible outcomes?

6. Just makes me more depressed.
The End of Nations is always depressing. No offense, but I'll be in Canada if you need me.
