Junior to N.O. on Friday. Suppose he's going to hand out golf clubs? |
|
As most of you have probably heard, Bush was out playing golf while the Gulf coast was being destroyed.
Now he's planning to show up in New Orleans on Friday. (Well, let's call it what it is: a fly over.) He'll no doubt shake his head, declare his sorrow, and ask us all to pray.
The real answer to any prayers is getting all of our troops and equipment home from Iraq to help save whatever they still can of New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf coast.
At this very moment, people are wading through sewerage to find water, food, and whatever else it takes to survive. And Nero Junior fiddles on. Hey, Junior, did you break par the other day?
If this man is permitted to serve out his term without impeachment, conviction, and then a criminal trial, I'm not sure I want to live in this country any longer.

Now I understand why France had that revolution. The total disconnect between Bush/Bush supporters and reality is mind boggling.
(Yesterday a Bush supporter admitted that most of those responsible for 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia BUT he claimed that they trained in Iraq. I was too amazed at that lie to contradict him.)

3. It seems he has been preparing by eating cake, learning to |
|
play the guitar and fund raising for the repub party, etc, so it seems he will serve cake, sing to the victims while asking them for money to fill the repub coffers.

6. Where the hell is he planning on being? |
|
He can't be anywhere IN New Orleans? How the hell is he supposed to go there? What with all the massive 500 levels of security the Most Hated Man in the World requires, there's no way he can go to such a disaster area, riddled with anarchy right now.

8. Rove is probably re-thinking the visit. |
|
A chopper ride will lead to questions about whether that's the best use for a chopper when people still need to be rescued and supplies delivers, etc.
It will be difficult to find a way for the Coward to look good and "presidential" during such a visit and we all know that's the ONLY reson he would go.

He'd have to pose in front of a few reporters and a few dozen carefully selected, prescreened, hand-picked people somewhere in a school auditorium in far north Louisiana.
For ten minutes.
Then be flown back out.
And yeah, got the fuel for his plane, but what about the people starving, dying in NO and Mississippi?
Fucker.
I just don't see how, given the massive levels of security he needs from all the people who hate him, he CAN show up anywhere near this disaster. Even under the BEST of circumstances, he can only flit in and out, and that's with tons of prior preparation.

10. not to mention the distraught citizens would take little comfort |
|
in watching helicopter one fly safely over them while they are chest-deep in brackish water wondering if they'll even survive this.
here's what a REAL leader would do....fly a convoy of rescue helicopters down there, and then step OUT of helicopter one and allow it to be used to rescue people.
With all their spin, they couldn't think of this great PR moment? oh, that's right, because its not his donors in trouble down there, JUST THE PEOPLE THAT EMPLOY HIM.

12. Um, seriously, he cannot get that close to |
|
unscreened, non-checked out in advance people.
I am not kidding.
He has been so unavailable to the American people, so aloof, so uncaring throughout the last five years, that there is no way they can risk him getting that close to just ANYONE.
It's the downside of being so hated for so many reasons. You have to live in this teeny tiny little bubble.
And it's ironic, too. The more you stay pulled away from the people you are supposed to lead, the more you HAVE to stay away from them.

What is the matter with you?
We're running huge deficits, are in two wars, and * canceled his vacation. We can't afford to hand out golf clubs.
He may hand out Tees though. Wooden ones, they float you know.

13. Is there a solid source for the golf story? |

I'm at work so I can't spend a lot of time looking. Would love to get a solid link so I could send the story on to local liberal radio host. TIA

16. Heard it on Randi Rhodes yesterday. She was interviewing Cindy Sheehan |
|
who was the one who said Bush was golfing. They're within sight of the "ranch," but I don't know exactly how Cindy got her info. Nonetheless, unlike BushCo, she's not been known to make anything up.
