Camp Casey: Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes... (DIAL-UP WARNING)
I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence and
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same

And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their world
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through

David Bowie

And one parting glance before leaving the original Camp Casey site at Crawford for the last time...

I know you're out there.

I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change.

I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.

I'm going to hang up this phone and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you, a world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries, a world where anything is possible.

Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

2. Man that looks like real hippies to me (sarcasm)
Like Tom Delay said we must have some real hippes out there wowie. :sarcasm:

Looks more like a whole huge flock of conservatives too who are sick of the war in Iraq, lots of people in normal clothes wanting their children home. Great pictures, the crosses are amazing I am so astonished at how many there are.

4. It was an honor to help plant the crosses at the big tent
So many people have said they couldn't look at the memorial without bursting into tears. I locked my own emotions away many times when looking at the crosses because it's just all too real. But I stood in front of them, and I opened my heart, and I removed my hat in a display of honor that not even the President will receive from me.

We owe their families and their memory at least that much.

6. thanks so much...
On to WDC in Sept....but still so many concerns-no time to relax; Will there be another attack on the US, that will 're-unite' some of the beginning to get a clue- stupid folks behind the BushInc.'s attempts to march into Iran? Do you think enough people are waking up yet to disrupt their plans? Will disaster follow disaster? Cheney is lying low? I wonder.
I'm very worried.

8. Nobody predicted this would grow as much as it did
That's one thing my wife keeps telling me - don't let the FReepers convince you that this was some wasteful exercise in futility. This is the beginning of the end of the occupation in Iraq. All we have to do is stay the course and hold Bush accountable for his sins against the American people.

7. Y'all are welcome
I understand the campsite gets struck today - and then GSFP goes on the road until the march next month in DC.

And Cindy will resume the vigil in front of the White House.

9. Awesome pics, Derby!
I love the way you show the progression from a small movement to a massive, spontaneous, grassroots swell. And the lyrics are on the spot!
