Why are "news people" surprised that water "moves stuff"? |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 10:13 AM by SoCalDem
I keep hearing them marveling at how a casino barge moved "all the way across the highway".. It's a BARGE...It doesn't take very deep water to move cars..and a storm surge with high winds would have (and didn't) little trouble "moving" a casino barge..
Ever see a tiny tugboat guiding a large ship?? water makes things easy to move...(except a human walking against/across the current)
These are all things that need consideration BEFORE huge stuff floating on or at the coast , gets re-built..

1. Perhaps the news people |
|
have lived in the comfort of urban areas, where the water has been domesticated.

2. Because one usually doesn't see a barge parked in the middle of a highway? |

5. I heard someone say that a wave was "very strong" because |
|
it picked up cars.
Er, no. It's not strong, it's just water. Stuff floats.
