It's what leaders do. They lead. Neither the chimp nor his handlers understand the importance of showing up and taking charge - except in cases where fundraising dollars are to be had or fake photo ops for PR purposes are being arranged.
This is disgusting.

Clinton would have been out there yesterday, rallying the country behind the disaster aid efforts and getting people to part with their money to help out. Just seeing a strong leader like him impart some solemn, hopeful words would have given us all a sense that SOMEONE was in charge in DC, and it was someone who cared. Or at least seemed to.
Bush** had better things to do. Speeches to give, guitars to play....He is the crappiest so-called President we've ever had. EVER.
