11. Federal Law mandates that children who temporarily reside in an area
can attend schools in that area.

So those children housed in shelters in Texas will go to school there.

It is the law and Perry was talking about doing his best to make sure they will follow that law.

carrying them to Tx starting today.

14. 400 pages! wow, if they can generate bullshit that fast
why couldn't they have generated some action a little faster and gotten some of these people out before Katrina hit?

16. as I understand a plan was there for action by Homeland Security but
seems it can now go into effect (the 400 page plan of what to do when national disasters occur).

13. How much you want to bet they will be coming to towns like mine
Poor towns without jobs (which if fine--I truly hope they do) instead of larger and more affluent towns where they can find jobs?

17. well, if there isn't any work in your town, and they've got no
roots there, those folks will move on, when given a chance. I don't think Houston can magically absorb 30,000 unemployed, but maybe that's what blivet** is hoping.
