shroud my anger in sarcasm. I'm going to be doubly angry if people don't see through this ploy that is the blivet. I doubt he has a sympathetic bone in his body and wish people would wake up to that fact.

The incompetance of this administration know no bounds.

The sad thing is. There will be no accounting. Bush will give a few promotions and a few medals of freedom, and all will be forgotten.

48. Cunning bastard! - now he can say he's already seen the damage and
no need to come back by helicopter on Friday, this gives one the impression on much this country has gone down the toilet since the Bush cartel took over.

These guyz make the mob look like pansies!!

38. Yep.
Every time he lands, everybody knows where AF1 is. Publicizing the fact that he's overflying a disaster area is not a big deal.

Publicizing his exact route there would be.

32. He's on it anyway and AF1 (the 747) has advanced communications gear.
(any Air Force plane he's on automatically becomes "Air Force One"...it's not an individual aircraft, it's a designation.

The 747 he usually flies on is outfitted with all sorts of stuff (secure communications gear, satellite links, staff resources, etc.) that would make it a good choice for this.

37. No, but he was on the plane ANYWAY.
Does it make sense to land, switch to a smaller plane, fly over NOLA, land again, and get back on the big plane?

The big plane also has the advantage of letting him contact anybody he needs to instantly (no, I'm not suggesting he's bright enough to actually DO this) and carrying his entire staff.

Where is he, where is he. Your complaints are out there. If he's not their in the mix during the storm, pulling people out of their homes than he's ignoring the situation. If he somehow is connected to the situation it's a photo-op. Would you like any more angles to argue from.

61. If you're still around, an answer:
"Where is he, where is he?"

The complaint is the same one you will find here going back to 2000. Democrats recognize something that a good Republican like you wouldn't. Bush doesn't feel our pain. Bush doesn't feel the pain of the people of NO, either. He doesn't feel the pain of the families of the soldiers he sent to die, telling our enemies to "bring it on", arguably the three stupidest words ever uttered by a living politician.

Now he flies above the site of the disaster in a cavalier and dispassionate way, looking out the damn window of a 747, from which he cannot possibly see New Orleans. If he were a decent human being (not just a decent president, even, just a man with a drop of compassion) he would be closer. He would be talking to the people who have lost their homes, their loved ones, everything.

He wouldn't even have to talk to black people (since he doesn't like too). There were lots of victims in white places like Gulfport, MS.

You mocked Clinton when he said he felt our pain. He did, though, however flawed he was in other ways. Bush feels nothing.

We know that and you don't.

I can't blame him for doing a flyover as he heads back to DC.

I can blame him for many other things, such as: cutting back funding for disaster planning, not make an on the ground appearance by now, having 35% of LA's NG in Iraq,...
