I don't trust the Bush Adminstration...
to take care of this national disaster in the gulf region the way is should be taken care of. I truly fear that they will only make a horrific situation worse through their willful neglect and incompetence.

I don't trust them to handle the tax payer funding that will be needed, I don't trust them to be involved in anyway with the awarding of rebuilding contracts, I don't trust them to take seriously the environmental issues that need to be looked at in the design and rebulding of the region -- I simply do not trust them to do the right thing by NO and the other hit areas.

At a time when we need serious leadership, radical innovation, and a genuine caring for people as never before, the Bush Administration is tragically lacking in all of those qualities.

And that makes me cry for our country and for the people of the gulf states.

1. Well, this is a natural disaster
what can Bush get out of this? Maybe he'll launch an attack on the ozone layer.

3. Well, with all that oil...

2. I totally agree. I am half crying and the other half angry
the incompetence of georgie porgie shows bright on this disaster.

It's like he's reading the pet goat again. Where the fuck is he and his 'I'll surround myself with all the best people' teams. They are three or four days late now...how much longer???

6. I think what sent me over the edge...
was reading the thread about just who the Bush number one and two are at FEMA -- men who have essentially little to no genuine experience in natural disasters or the running of such a massive organization as FEMA.

How fucked is that?

4. I do trust the admin. to award all the rebuilding contracts to Halliburton
and other companies owned by admin. officials. That's also not the right thing, of course, but as you say--they have never done the right thing and never will because they're totally lacking in leadership and they don't care about ANYONE but themselves and lining their pockets.

I weep as well for our country, for the victims of this national tragedy, for the troops in Iraq/Afghanistan and the citizens there. I weep for all of us, knowing what we've lost and will never get back.

7. Coming from a city whose...
symbol is a pheonix, I tend to be of the "We can do it!" kind of mindset and, with just about any other administration, I would be 100% there -- but -- not with these bastards.

My only hope is the people of this country and the gulf states -- inspite of this administration -- prevail inspite of BushCo.

5. Notwithstanding your cogent observations, the idolatrous throngs chant:
four more years, four more years.

8. I was just talking with someone...
about what it would take for that hardcore 40 something percent of Americans to finally wakeup to see just what a horror Bush is. We agreed that, even if Bush were found him buggering a ten year old boy scout, too many would still find some tortured way to excuse, explain, absolve the man. Hey, there were many at the very end who stil thought Hitler was the bees knees. :eyes:

9. Yes, you are exactly right.
For some time I've said that if Bush were caught having sex with a pig his "followers" would say it was part of his "Farm Enhancement Program". He is, after all, the "Man of Faith" and Jesus is his favorite political philosopher not to mention savior that he prays to every morning. These "followers" are beyond hope and right now I'm so angry if it weren't for the Merlot I might implode. Scared spitless there's an aneurysm somewhere inside my brain just waiting to burst. Must. Stay. Calm.

May God help us all!
