Articles of Impeachment on Bush over the Disaster

I'm forwarding this to my Congressman:

I demand that articles of Impeachment be drawn up against that buffoon Bush over his abandonment of the people of the Gulf States. He is in violation of his Oath of Office that clearly states "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The Constitution clearly states that we have a federal government in order to: "form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" Well, he has failed in all of this in this tragedy in the Gulf. People are dying, and a part of that is his fault. He withdrew funding from necessary domestic projects that were supposed to protect the city of New Orleans from a levee break. People can't get food or water or transport and part of that is the fault of his mismanagement of FEMA. And people cannot be guaranteed any safety at all because Bush's idiotic Iraq mis-adventure has taken the National Guard out of the area and left vulnerable states at the mercy of starvation, thirst and mob rule.

He must go. I demand that a Congressional panel convene, start an investigation and draw up articles of Impeachment. This abandoment of the Republic and it's people cannot go on.

8. I guess you must like what he is doing to Americans and
America. You people really need to face up to the fact that your hero is crook and criminal and you voted for the wrong man. We need everyone's help to get rid of this horrid blight on our land. Admitting that you were wrong is a noble thing to do.

7. well...
the articles of impeachment cannot be drawn up because the Republicans still control the comittee that would have to bring up the articles of impeachment.

It's going to come down to next years vote to try and gain control of the comittee again...

10. Finally good work and excellent post.
Here is a good place to contact all members of congress at one time especially democrats:

Bush and cronies must be impeached for all of the following:

1) Failure to protect the borders from overwhelming flooding in of illegal immigrants, many of whom have brought the job crisis.
2) Engagement of an illegal war in which he lied everyone into the disaster, for his own gain and to enrich oil profits for other countries.
3) Complete and utter failure to uphold the law of the oval office, and keep the economy from going into recession brought on by his tax cuts and negligence.
4) Utter failure to address FEMA spending, and purposeful gutting of federal money which prevents disasters such as Hurricaine Andrew and Katrina from ruining the entire United States.
5) Failure before congress to address the truth about the Iraq War.
6) Total negligence of the national treasury and the looting of our gold reserves for the oil industry.

There we go.

12. May I use this?
I would like to send this to my Republican Congressman who is a very powerful politician on the hill, Bill Thomas. I will try to rally as many of his constituents to do the same. He can't ignore all of us all the time just because we didn't vote for him.

I'll send it to my senators as well.

Grab post #10. It is an excellent summary of just what went wrong here. (And this doesn't even include Iraq and the giant screwup over there, from conception to it's present state of nothingness.)

Nine and half hours in Iraq were bought at the expense of selling out the City of New Orleans? This is one of the greatest betrayals of the American people in our history.

Ultimately, funding isn't the prez's bailiwick.

That's Congress'.

The storm went through 48 hours ago; and the levee breaks happened yesterday, changing circumstances on the ground rather radically.

FEMA has to deal with more than just N.O.

And I agree: now the important thing to do is get all the people organizing things in N.O. and Mississippi and in DC cracking on preparing reports. That should gobble up all of their time for the next couple of weeks. Then we can have hearings for a few weeks, having reporters get long interviews. It'll keep Congress busy. Heck, maybe we can tie up things so much that they don't have time for the upcoming budget fights, or to pass continuing budget resolutions. Then we'll have *real* problems.

And maybe sometime after the heat breaks, in October or November, they can figure out how to help the people affected by Katrina.
