Hey DU, tell your Senators & congressmen to bring our National Guard home

I just called to let mine know that if Bush had not over-deployed our National Guard to fight an unnecessary war, that we would be in a much better position to save the lives of and provide assistance to hurricane victims. I also asked why they and President Bush did not cut their vacations short and rush back to Washington to expedite relief efforts, especially considering how they did so to grandstand in the Terry Schiavo case.

I also asked why they had not asked the tough questions that they had a RESPONSIBILITY to ask before giving Bush authority to wage his unnecessary and poorly planned invasion in Iraq. I said the fact that National Guardsmen and their equipment are in Iraq was causing a greater degree of human loss and suffering than was necessary.

Please call your reps and voice your outrage. My reps are all Bush tools, but if you have a Democrat Senator or Congressperson, ask them why they aren't taking the lead since Bush has so obviously missed the boat.
