Clintons in Hawaii
I'm happy for the Clintons; seems as though their marriage is on track. Can't wait to see them back in the White House!!! I would love to go to Hawaii someday.

Clinton Family Enjoying Kauai Vacation

The Associated Press

LIHUE, Hawaii Former President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary Clinton spent a family vacation on Kauai with their daughter Chelsea doing what most tourists do on Hawaii's Garden Isle, as well as what most won't ever get to do _ golfing with a movie star.

The Clintons have been spotted hiking the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast and golfing at Princeville with "James Bond" actor and Hanalei resident Pierce Brosnan. The Clintons also shopped and dined in local restaurants.

The Clintons stayed at a private luxury home in remote Haena on Kauai's lush North Shore. They've also been accompanied by a team of Secret Service agents.

"They've been doing the things most vacationers do," said Al Joaquin, special agent in charge at the Secret Service office in Honolulu.

Hanalei Gourmet owner Tim Kerlin said the former president picked up a deli sandwich, while Sen. Clinton, D-N.Y., and their daughter enjoyed a restaurant appetizer specialty: deep-fried crispy artichoke hearts.

Clinton last visited Kauai in 1992, when he spent a day campaigning on four islands for Hawaii Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mazie Hirono, who lost to Gov. Linda Lingle.

1. Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast
One of the most beautiful places on Earth (sigh).

Good for them. I hope they have a relaxing time.

2. Gee, I wonder if the AP has an agenda.
People are complaining that the "president" remains on vacation while our country is suffering a major catastrophe. Therefore, AP decides to publish today that the former president remains on vacation. Gee what a coincidence!
Everyone wants to blame Clinton.
The problem is that he is not the President now. ** is and it's his responsibility to exercise leadership to get the country through the catastrophe. ** is totally incapable of doing that.

8. I agree
For all we know, he's making calls to people in the area to find out what he can do. At least one of the LA senators is a dem and I think the mayor is too.
He can't just show up.

5. and I liked watching Bush play guitar yesterday
at least he wasn't playing with himself but thankfully he cut his 38 day vacation short by 2 days making it only 36 days. But since the hurricane arrived Sunday, did it's massive damage Monday, good thing he stayed back in San Diego to be sure and be fully rested before springing into action. No effort was needed to immediately inspect the levee's after the storm passed. NO wasn't hit directly, Katrina missed it by over 50miles, imagine that, a 500mile wide hurricane missed NO by over 50 miles. What damage could that do?
Good thing the president is hurrying back to DC

No more clinton or bush.

11. The word is that is that he is very, very ill
That's why Bush has hung back so long. Puppetmaster Cheney was not around to pull the strings and tell Bush what to do.

12. Clinton did visit Hawaii in 1992, however the Linda Lingle vs. Hirono
race for governor was not until 2002.
