RW talk radio host finally admits oil companies, not taxes are to blame
Where I live, the combined state and federal gas tax is about 40 cents. The price of gas rose 40 cents since Katrina. Some stations had gas for 3.06$ a gallon.

Today, Tom Marr, an extreme RW talk show host (you should hear him normally- a real wingnut asshole) in Baltimore said that oil companies are price gouging and are making more profits than they ever had in history. He admitted it. He also called for the WH to order the Justice department to investigate oil companies, who are making out like bandits on high prices at the expense of the american people. Even before Katrina, he admitted that the oil companies were over charging and it is getting worse since. He encouraged people to go to the Energy Department and register complaints about gouging.

He also said the WH is doing nothing at all, and they are failing in leadership.

I enjoyed every minute of this. Even hardcore repukes are jumping this sinking ship like a pack of rats.

What i want to know is why the oil companies are doing to Bush what they did to Jimmy carter? Bush has given them massive tax breaks, and all kinds of perks, took Government off their back and let them do whatever they wanted. He even gave them ANWR, a piece of pristine wilderness that has so far escaped their plunder and pollution. He gave them Iraq.

In the 1970s, big oil took the OPEC embargo, which only amounted to 5% of our oil in the 1970s and price gouged to ruin the economy and make profits. They stopped when Reagan came into office and appeased them by cutting regulations and taxes, in effect giving the economic saboteurs in big oil exactly what they wanted. Why are they doing this to Bush, who is even more of an appeaser than Reagan?

2. Bush and Cheney are oilmen. They are lining their own pockets.
Simple as that. I don't think there is anything more sinister. This is pure, unadulterated greed and market manipulation. Because they can.

They're oil men.

Why do we keep acting surprised that oilmen keep doing things that favor the oil industry? Hellllloooooooooooo!

3. They will pimp out grandma to make a buck
You assume LOYALTY on their part, while they are in the 'take the money and run' mode. Once you HAVE money, it is so easy to get MORE money. Funny how that works!

They could give a shit about chimpy--they'll pimp him out, too, and toss their campaign contributions at the next schmuck who will play ball the way they like it.

10. you are 100% correct from where I sit
I'm the only liberal in an all commodity broker firm. All of these bastards masturbate when Bush is on TV and they would defiantly pimp their grandmothers if they could make a buck.

4. I wonder what Mr. Marr will say when . . . ?
When the corrupt Bush administration continues to line its own pockets at the expense of the rest of the country, will Mr. Marr still be asking for accountability? Right now he's upset with the oil companies, as far as I can tell, but can he trace the bright line that connects Big Oil to the corrupt Bushistas? Or is that just too much for his little two-watt brain to contemplate?

5. I figured gas would reach $10 per gallon before freeptards took their
heads out of the sand and admitted that it's not "taxes" or "environmental rules" that are causing the high prices..

it's 100% greed and nothing but..

11. You gotta ask yourself, where is the cash in his blind trust invested?
I doubt he's got much more of it in timber (got wood? heh, heh!).

And how blind is that trust?

The fucking assrat will land on his feet, no fear. He won't even need to have to grind out a good book, not that he would be capable of that...Karen Hughes will get that tiresome, impossible job...

9. Oh no ...
...

The line I've heard is that it's a lack of "refining capability".

So when crude oil doubles in price, the resulting price of gasoline is apparently due to too much oil purchasing and the subsequent lack of refining capability for those supermen defying the laws of supply and demand.

Right wingers are people with a sickness that needs healing with logic and reason. They've been brainwashed with that ultimate in non-logical documents, The Holy Bible. If you can believe the Bible, you can believe anything.

It's not like you can't be a person of faith and a person of reason. It's no more difficult than being a person of reason and being a fan of Aesop's fables.
