Paul McHale, Asst Secy of Defense, lying on MSNBC
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 01:07 PM by Atman
He is trying to pretend they weren't caught off guard...he claimed that the Defense Dept. has been preparing for this "for several weeks, in anticipation of the impact."

Really? Exactly when did Katrina form, and when was it's path to MS/LA known? I find it hard to believe it was "several weeks" ago.

But then again, the guy talking is just another fat white guy in a navy blue suit...the last sandbags the guy ever saw were actually his wife's asscheeks. But he covers for Bush so nicely!

Oh...and about the oil reserves...they will be releasing the oil, COMBINED with a nationwide relaxation of fuel pollution standards, truckers on-road hours, and other concessions to industry favorable to BushCo's. Why do truckers in the Pacific Northwest get to extend their on-road time to help people in NOLA? Hey, glad they're doing something, but this so far stinks of just more BushCo opportunism.

2. He's having trouble addressing the looting problem.
Talking about the NG as thought the NG is actually there. Which they are not. Yakking about the NG "figures" blah blah.

Fucking liar.

4. Well, at least the Bush gang of thieves is consistent
They can't let a tragedy pass without inacting measures that help their bottom line.

6. Prepping to gut environmental regs wherever next 'cane hit.
Probably in reviewing their response to the four hurricanes that hit Florida last year, Connaughton, Bush's chief enviornmental advisor thought, "Damn, we missed a great opportunity to scrap gas standards - one of you guys get on that so the next big hurricane that hits, we can do this."
