Are there 9000 US soldiers killed in Iraq?

talking to a con who says that there aren't 9000 dead from Iraq becuase the source is Indymedia and they can't be trusted.

So without getting into the trustworthyness of Indymedia..what proof do we have that leads us to beleive that the pentagon is undercounting the dead from Iraq and the true total is 9000?

have any of the US mainstream papers reported on this? what about the Guardian?
