nitty gritty, sometimes boring stuff that needs to get done in order to meet emergencies such as this gets ignored under Repug administrations

I see it in MA with a Repug in the corner office for 17 years;the condition of our roads in MA are terrible because they don't fund programs that benefit all the people.(I'm not talking about the Big Dig)Roads and bridges are in terrible shape here in MA - the maintenance of a levee I believe would fall into this category. Repugs shift the priority of where money goes. They want to privatize everything to give their friends contracts. And we the taxpayer get shoddy less service in return.

The real work of governing is not glamorous. It is showing up every day,doing your job and sometimes listening to complaints from us the taxpayer. Bush and his cronies fail on all counts.

It is like that stupid show on E about a rich kids cattle drive:OTHER people work in their world. When called upon to actually function and do something they call upon others to do the work. Those kids are Bush.
