How long before cholera, malaria etc. raise their ugly heads..
...it seems to me that you simply cannot have a soup of rotting buildings, toxic chemicals, human bodies, animal carcasses, huge new breeding grounds for all types of mosquitoes baking under a 90+ sun without very very bad things starting to happen soon.

I am sorry to be a pessimist. If I'm way off base please say so. I hope to God I am.

That will be the lasting story of this disaster....
within a week, people will start dying from "third-world" diseases in numbers unseen in this country.

1. No, everybody is worried about that. It's going to be a problem.

4. How long before anarchy raises its ugly head?
We need to get everyone out of there, like, yesterday. Once there's no place left to loot -- i.e., it's almost all underwater -- and people start running out of food, they'll start turning on each other.

Talk about being a pessimist, eh?

5. It won't be long now.
The toxic soup people have been wading in is going to be the worst part of this whole mess.

Damn that fucking bastard who cut funding for mitigating this disaster straight to hell!

6. all of that and more will be poisoning the population
very, very soon. Not being pessemistic at all, just telling it like it is.
