ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) -- President Bush flew over areas of the South devastated by Hurricane Katrina after holding a video conference Wednesday with top aides to discuss federal relief efforts.

McClellan said the government was declaring the hurricane an "incident of national significance," a designation that triggers a recently developed national emergency plan for the first time and will allow better coordination among government agencies.

I don't want to be paranoid, but any time THIS government develops new "national emergency plans" I start to get a little worried about what exactly that means.

from the same news story, under the guidelines the Federal gov't doesn't get involved unless local and state gov'ts can't handle the event by themselves. The local and state gov'ts have not yet said they couldn't handle it on their own, but the Feds have apparently unilaterally made that determination.

7. I am very 'spooked' by the Crooks

especially since the first 'spook' talking is from EPA, then the next 'spook' from the Energy Faction... Damn... this is why it took them so long to get things going!!.. The 'spooks' were ironing out first how to turn more profits off the backs of people in need.. Oops, sorry.. is what they have been doing for the past almost 5 years now. 'National Emergency Plan', yep I too was very disturbed listening to these 'spooks', sat here thinking why do I feel/think this all has the familiar odor of fresh feces??!! :hide:
