Navy Relief Efforts
Last night I posted that I had volunteered to go back on active duty for a short term stint doing hurricane relief with my Navy Reserve readiness command. A number of DU'ers posted well-wishes, for which I am grateful.

What really makes me proud of my branch of the service, though, is that in the few hours between the time I learned of the need and the time I volunteered, all the anticipated volunteer billets were filled. So I'm on standby in case they need more bodies, and proud as hell of the Navy Reserve.
