Hurricane Katrina is, literally, Bush's Waterloo |
|
Hurricane Cindy weakened Bush and Hurricane Katrina will finish him off. Right now, without substantial tangible fatalities, Bush's FEMA/Homeland Security henchmen can spin it any way they want. In fact, I am even suspecting they are not removing bodies as they find them and putting them in makeshift morgues (that is generally the procedure for public health reasons), is that they are hoping the alligators/rats will eat as many of them as possible to keep the numbers down in the initial aftermath. However, there will be a day of reckoning for this. When all of the people that survived this hurricane come forward with their stories, the American people will be horrified at the inaction of the federal government. I have a feeling even the Mayor and Governor will contribute to this downfall. Bush will go down.

2. People all over the country have relatives in the disaster area |

and of course they can watch the lack of effective coordinated response on teevee. It's easy to see that the US is not prepared to handle emergencies anymore.
I think this will be *'s undoing. But I've thought that many times before.

Those republicans just spent a month in Crawford trying to plot what political gambits they were going to execute in the spring. Now he has a different problem. We shall see. This time , * can't stand on the pile of dead and say: "we gonna get them that done this to us".

...died in their attics who could've been saved if we'd had the NG home and at the ready, where they belong, rather than in Iraq. The initial rescue response needed to be much more robust.
