George Harrison on relief efforts
My friend came to me
with sadness in his eyes
told me that he wanted help
before his country died

Although I couldn't feel the pain
I knew I had to try
Now I'm asking all of you
help us save some lives

Bangla Desh, Bangla Desh
Where so many people are dying fast
and it sure looks like a mess
I've never seen such distress
now won't you lend your hand
try to understand
Relieve the people of Bangla Desh

Bangla Desh, Bangla Desh
Such a great disaster
I don't understand
but it sure looks like a mess
I never known such distress
Please don't turn away
I wanna hear you say
Relieve the people of Bangla desh

Bangla Desh, Bangla Desh
Though it may seem so far
from where we all are
It's something we can't reject
That suffering I can't neglect
Now won't you give some bread
Get the starving fed
Relieve the people of Bangla Desh

Now won't you lend your hand
try to understand
Relieve the people of Bangla Desh

-- George Harrison

1. Oh Dubya would even turn down George for help
He probably never owned a Beatle album in his life. And he's a baby boomer, for Christ sakes.

2. The Blivet AssClown Can Not Read Much Less Comprehend
Harrison is so WASTED on this little vapid shitdustbag. If he had a thought, I mean even one, it would die of fucking loneliness.

3. Beatle George would
remind us that we need to control those things we can. If Bush & Co. are allowed to control this, it becomes a military operation, not a humanitarian one. It may seem small, but it is important that people of good will contribute to humanitarian efforts on this. We should not allow our dislike for the president to seep into our efforts, or it will have a toxic effect, much like the contamination that has occured in the flooded areas.

We need to appeal to our inner-George Harrisons, so to speak.

7. You Are Right
I will put aside my loathing of Blivet and focus on what needs to be done. Man is it hard. I have never held so much contempt in my being for another person.

Oh maybe Japan 1968 comes close. My dad was the CO of Naval Air Station Atsugi Japan. I broke my arm very seriously and was in hospital at Camp Zama. A heavy hit Army unit for Nam wounded. I had troops sign my autograph pig stuffed animal. I was like their baby sister there. I was nine fucking years old. Just a little girl and yet my dad managed to fuck the whole experience up.

When I got out of hospital surviving a compound fracture my dad said I had to dump the pig because it had a peace symbol on it. One of the guys, you know guys blown to bits in Vietnam, thought to decorate my pig with a peace sign. But to my dad this was treason.

The pig went into the BBQ. I have never forgiven my father for that display of depravity, His child's stuffed animal and words of love burnt to bits.

I do not speak to my dad anymore. Peyton is unknown to him and he does not care. It hurts me... more for her not me. My inner George is spread quite thin these days.

Now Ben is off to Iraq. We will never be the same again. No Matter what happens to him, hurt or not hurt, or Gawd forbid killed, it will just be changed. That just fucking haunts me.

We are very close. When Ben was born Mark (his father) was deployed and he never met Ben until he was 8 months old. Almost walking. My kids are all early physical developers. I am a marathon runner and it is just in their genes to move.

But Mark pushed Ben to join the Marines. It is a complicated Daddy thing. I just do not want my first born to come home in a box.

I know, I know I can NOT control ANYTHING. But the train wreck a coming my way just scares the shit out of me. I want to be in control I want to manage this debacle. Because I am damn good at crisis management. But this is more than I can deal with.

OK Harrison teach me.

I find myself having to turn the tv off, and to put George on the turntable today.

10. True.
"Only living things bring living joy to the soul and must elevate the soul." -- Gandhi

The results of the hurricane must elevate the rest of the country to behaving at a higher level than we could reasonably expect from Washington, DC.

11. Thanks for putting things in perspective.
In hard times like these, it helps to have a positive outlook and a genuine desire to do the right thing. That's what I love about George and that's what I aspire to in my own life.

So I'm going to try to rid myself of negativity. Beware of darkness.
