"I had to suffer through eight years of Clinton
now you can suffer through 8 years of Bush." This came spewing out of the mouth of one of my repug work mates today as we bitched about gas prices. After i cleared the piece of sandwich that lodged in my throat i said "yeah cuz we all suffered so much then." "We had better, cheaper health care, the middle class was actually prospering not disappearing, we weren't in debt as a nation and we were still looked upon as a civilized nation to most, social security wasn't effed up, we weren't being screwed by the IRS ie tax breaks for the rich and education was a priority." "you of all people should be kissing Clinton's ass because of the Child Tax Credit...you have 5 kids under 17." "we really suffered under Clinton didn't we?" At that point i picked up my lunch and relocated to my office as he just sat there. These guys don't get it. They are warehouse workers who make $10.00 an hour yet all but a couple of them voted for the chimp. The one guy who made the comment has worked here for 15 years and makes quite a bit more than the other guys and owns 2 rent houses and has 5 kids. These people had to be doing better under the CLinton Admin. so why don't they realize it?

1. Well said. I frequently think of that
who really "suffered" (relatively) under Clinton? Everyone did better. What a JOKE. Thanks for telling him off.

4. Yeah those 99 cent gallons of gas were really bad
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 02:36 PM by high density
So was that record high stock market, everybody hated that. I like the stock market much better when it treads water for a few years and prefer my gas prices to be at least $3.00 a gallon.

5. Talking to a bushbot = banging head against wall.
Except that talking to one of them is likely to more damage to your brain.

6. This is exactly why
Republicans strategy has been to divide the country. Clinton tried to bring us together but was not successful. Clinton did an ok job for all americans not just the rich. It's a 'my dick is bigger than your dick' syndrome with political parties these days.

19. I think that the RW christians know as well as
anyone that Bush has screwed a bunch of things up. They are just willing to pretend until Bush gets the anti abortion thing done or the other social sexual issues. Simple as that.

all they can think of is Clinton's blow job.

Amazing what bothers some people

Get some reasons. Do they have any? Other than the 'blow-job' thing, what real reason do they have to dislike him?

That is the only viable answer for anything related to Republicans' reasons for whatever stupid shit dribbles out of their greedy, ignorant, flapping pieholes.

and politically outsmarted them at every opportunity. Clinton usually made the Reichwingers look like the morans they are at every turn.

14. I am afraid you have just posed
THE GREAT QUESTION OF OUR TIME.

My short answer would be this: They simply didn't like the man, and the fact that he was not a bad president really pissed them off. That is what hurt them and caused their "suffering" - the dissonance between their blind hatred and their relatively good lives.

17. Clinton gave us the best middle class tax break in history...
the $250,000/$500,000 capital gain exclusion on selling your home.. That was a true middle class tax break. Progressive, NOT regressive. Anyone making less than $100,000/yr who voted for Bush is a complete idiot (and I know several).

20. All the proof one needs to verify that the rank and file repugs
DO NOT THINK for themselves. They just spew RW talking points! Their leaders said Clinton was bad (the whole sex thing) and that's all they needed to hear, besides the 8 yrs of prosperity was a result of Reaganomics, never mind that it took 12 yrs to materialize. :silly: Brain dead and brainwashed.

23. Reality doesn't matter - "winning" and "losing" does.
Right-wingers and Republicans don't judge their politicians in terms of reality and results. As long as their guys keep winning, no matter how bad it gets while they win, they're happy.

Republicans think of their party the same way a sports fan looks at their favorite team - they might make mistakes now and then, but dammit, they're the Republicans, and at least they ain't queer!

28. They were told to hate him.
They were told an unending stream of lies about the reasons he should be hated. No sooner could one lie be debunked than 5 more were sprung into the spotlight.

And the debunking never got coverage.

29. Guys Like That, Make Me Feel Like This Guy !!!

And I'm not quite sure why.

********************************************************************************

BEN: You lucky bastard.
BRIAN: Who's that?
BEN: You lucky, lucky bastard.
BRIAN: What?
BEN: Proper little jailer's pet, aren't we?
BRIAN: What do you mean?
BEN: You must have slipped him a few shekels, eh?
BRIAN: Slipped him a few shekels? You saw him spit in my face!
BEN: Ohh! What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face! I sometimes hang awake at night dreaming of being spat at in the face.
BRIAN: Well, it's not exactly friendly, is it? They had me in manacles!
BEN: Manacles! Ooh oooh oh oh My idea of heaven is to be allowed to be put in manacles... just for a few hours. They must think the sun shines out o' your arse, sonny.
BRIAN: Oh, lay off me. I've had a hard time!
BEN: You've had a hard time?! I've been here five years! They only hung me the right way up yesterday! So, don't you come 'rou--
BRIAN: All right. All right.
BEN: They must think you're Lord God Almighty.
BRIAN: What will they do to me?
BEN: Oh, you'll probably get away with crucifixion.
BRIAN: Crucifixion?!
BEN: Yeah, first offence.
BRIAN: Get away with crucifixion?! It's--
BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a right bloody mess.
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail him up, I say!
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail some sense into him!
JAILER: What do you want?
BRIAN: I want you to move me to another cell.
JAILER: Ha!
BRIAN: Aah!
BEN: Oh, look at that! Bloody favouritism!
JAILER: Shut up, you!
BEN: Sorry!
JAILER: Huhh.
BEN: Now, take my case. They hung me up here five years ago. Every night, they take me down for twenty minutes, then they hang me up again, which I regard as very fair, in view of what I done, and, if nothing else, it's taught me to respect the Romans, and it's taught me... that you'll never get anywhere in this life, unless you're prepared to do a fair day's work for a fair day's pay!
BRIAN: Oh, shut up!
JAILER: Ehhh.
CENTURION: Pilate wants to see you!
BRIAN: Me?
CENTURION: Come on!
BRIAN: Pilate? What does he want to see me for?
CENTURION: I think he wants to know which way up you want to be crucified.
BEN: Oh, ha ha ha haa! Ha haa! Nice one, Centurion. Like it. Like it.
CENTURION: Shut up!
BEN: Right. Right. Terrific race, the Romans. Terrific.

:shrug::rofl::shrug:
