3. I heard them say on AAR
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 02:50 PM by fudge stripe cookays
this afternoon that MS and AL are both keeping counts, but that LA won't begin to take counts until things can stabilize a little bit. They really don't have much choice.

I haven't heard those numbers, but at this point, nothing will surprise me.

4. Yes. He's the guy who wrote the report outlining the worst
case scenario should a Cat 5 happen and the levees break. He has not been wrong in the past few days. And this is one time that I sincerely hope he is really really wrong.

Also, note Blitzer, CNN's Chief Idiot, asked him what needed to be done now: and the guy calmly responded get everyone out.

5. Let's keep in mind that they estimated
20,000 deaths from 9/11 and it ended up being much lower. I hope this guy is wrong.

6. I can't believe that's right...
I don't see how anyone could come up with a 10 percent figure. Did they take a random sample of 100 people who stayed behind and 10 were dead?

Maybe I just don't want to believe that number. I'm trying to wrap my brain around the "hundreds, perhaps thousands" quote.

7. the rooftops
when I look at all those rooftops, I think of the many who were unable to get their roofs and wave for help. Once they are able to get into the houses, thats when the true scale of this will be known.
