Well, the truth is known. We (the US) is totally unprepared to quickly
respond to an epic disaster because our infrastructure system (human-machine-technology) has been almost completely destroyed and allowed to decay to fund the war machine.

I remember that infrastructure funding was a huge part of the Clinton/Gore administrations and I thought we were headed in the right direction but just take a look at the energy bill priorities and the cuts in funding for the nation's infrastructure systems and you just want to cry.

1. The nation's infrastructure will have to wait as we fund the war over
there so we don't have to fight them over here.

2. We are better prepared than this. A lot of people aren't getting things
done that ought to. Bush has clearly supplanted Reagan now as the worst president ever, and I would never have believed that possible.

Hey, George, your dad sucks, but he's STILL better than you!

3. You got that right
It breaks my heart to see what's happened to us.
We tried to tell people...we knew the neocons would rape and pillage. We knew they'd take us to war. We knew. There's absolutely NO satisfaction in being correct while people suffer thanks to these lying thieving thugs.

4. actually the decay began during Reagan
got a little better under Clinton

then was decimated under George II

Still, alot of us are to blame. Many of us haven't spoken out loud enough or cared enough before. We let the Rethugs ruin our beautiful country. I didn't take from the poor to pay the rich, but I was uneducated for so long - and willfully so. I griped and complained here and there, but I never wrote a letter or protested or anything until this past year. It's been a hard lesson and I take responsibility for my actions unlike the rethugs. But I don't sit back anymore. I speak my mind. I write my elected officials. I protest. I speak up. It's the least I can do for my family, friends, community and my country.
