Here it is: Katrina is the fault of GAY people
This was sent to me by a friend who suggested "God sent the hurricane because the Deep South was filling up with intolerably smug soi-disant Christians stinking up the heavens with their prayers: 'God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this homosexual. Yea, and I thank thee also for my Lincoln Navigator.'"

ACT OF GOD DESTROYS NEW ORLEANS
DAYS BEFORE "SOUTHERN DECADENCE" 8/31/05

PHILADELPHIA - Just days before "Southern Decadence", an annual homosexual celebration attracting tens of thousands of people to the French Quarters section of New Orleans, an act of God destroys the city.

"Southern Decadence" has a history of filling the French Quarters section of the city with drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets and bars. Last year, a local pastor sent video footage of sex acts being performed in front of police to the mayor, city council, and the media. City officials simply ignored the footage and continued to welcome and praise the weeklong celebration as being an "exciting event". However, Hurricane Katrina has put an end to the annual celebration of sin.

On the official "Southern Decadence" website (www.SouthernDecadence.com), it states that the annual event brought in "125,000 revelers" to New Orleans last year, increasing by thousands each year, and up from "over 50,000 revelers" in 1997. This year’s 34th annual "Southern Decadence" was set for Wednesday, August 31, 2005 through Monday, September 5, 2005, but due to massive flooding and the damage left by the hurricane, Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco has ordered everyone to evacuate the city.

2. I'm surprised it wasn't Fallwell or Robertson!
I guess Pat was smacked hard enough on his Chvez hit idea that he's backed off this time, but Jerry's still out there!

I don't understand this time. I'm still not sure which state was hit harder...LA or MS.

Did it ever occur to these nuts that if they are right and it is God's punishment, it could be because of their non-acceptance of all Gods people, even if they're gay?

3. Or maybe God is fed up with Southern Baptists
But the Southern Baptists will just take it as another sign of END TIMES.

4. So why are the reddest states also the poorest states?
Shouldn't the poorest states be the blue, liberal, god-hating states? You'd think the blue states would have been smote good by now and the red states would have streets covered in bread from heaven.

7. I know it is wrong to define things for other people...
IE, "they are not real christians", but come on! I can and will say a person that eats steak everyday is not a vegetarian, even if they claim to be. How the hell, can you in any way pull this shit out of "Love your neighbor" "Love your enemy" etc. etc. etc. I mean, how come said christians never follow said christ?

9. Why do you post this shit?
Nobody here agrees with it, it has absolutely no redeemable value, and all it does is stir up hatred amid like-minded people.

12. Pay no attention to the words of the Devil
These people are not real Christians. They are the Devil. Only such words of hate and blind retribution can be from such demons.

These people are demonic zombies speaking the word of the Devil itself. Jesus would strike them dead if he was here.

The bile Phelps spews is just a more virulent form of the hate you'll hear in more seemingly "mainstream" churches every Sunday: I attended an independent Baptist church, which just celebrated its 200th anniversary, as a child during the beginnings of the AIDS crisis: We regularly heard that it was a plague from God designed to kill the homosexual scourge. We were also taught that interracial marriage is a sin (that "unequally yoked" passage in the bible) and that mental illness really doesn't exist: It's just humanity's selfish nature. When I first moved to DC, I visited a local church and walked out of a sermon for the first time in my life when the pastor (who grew up attending Falwell's church in Lynchburg) said that people on public assistance are all headed to hell.

14. Someone suggested moving Southern Decadence to Philly
Repent America's hometown. In your face, theocratic assclowns!

I know, I know, it wouldn't really be "Southern" Decadence. Maybe they could have it in South Philly? :-)

thing we need to see here, quite frankly. I know that there are some extremely ignorant people who believe this stupid, hateful shit. As a gay man, I don't appreciate it. I didn't like hearing that somehow I and other gay and lesbian folks "caused" 09/11. I don't really want to read anything like that now.
