Price of gas tomorrow
I was talking with the attendant at my local gas station today, Indiana, and he was telling me that they already have their price changes for tomorrow and they are going up to $3.50 a gallon. Currently we are at $2.65 here.

3. I told people this on Monday night...
And a fellow with the DU name of "Tom Yossarian Joad" called me an idiot.

I take cold comfort in having been right.

8. Well everyone likes to feel that they are right

I told my wife on Sunday evening that we could well be looking at $4.00 a gas in the not to distant future. But this is one of those times when I would like to be wrong.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to tell at this time what is driving the price. It could very well be people starting to hoard. We had a story here yesterday about a guy who drove into his local station with 4 55-gal drums and filled them up. That kind of thing is not helping at this time. For myself right now, I am just keeping the tank full on a daily bases.

On the upside there are reports on the cable networks that the initial damage assessments of the production facilities are that they incurred minimal damage, but I am taking all reports with a grain of salt. But then even if that is true we still have the problem of getting power to them.

5. Watch the US economy come to a grinding halt....

Dick Cheney did a really great job with the Energy Legislation; look at the outcome. Enron must still be alive and well and living in Cheney's cave. What should we put him in charge of next, rebuilding New Orleans and the Gulf Coast States?????? I'll bet he could really screw that up and make it even worse too.

9. Yea, one has to wonder
If this is the kind of thing that BushCo has been looking for to declare martial law across the country.

11. Time for price controls...
as they have already done in Hawaii. Max price is 2.15 a gallon.

12. Just filled up at $2.69 in Colorado Springs
But, the attendant told me that he was surprised that the price hadn't been raised because they were already paying $3.11 a gallon. That's the wholesale price folks! Fill up NOW!

I then called my sister in Bloomington, IN to tell her to fill up and she said that it was already too late, their price had gone up to $3.11 a gallon and would most likely continue to go up. Usually Indiana is cheaper on just about everything, so, it's going to get really bad in other places like NY, CA and of course here in CO.

13. Yeah our prices here are generally pretty good
in that we have good storage capacity here, and a fair amount of production capacity. That was what really shocked me about the attendants statement in that if it goes to $3.50 here I hate to think of what it could go to on the east and west coast.
