Poll question: Should New Orleans be rebuilt ? |
IF...... New Orleans can be re-built should it be? Many think rebuilding the city behind the levees is a recipe for another disaster. What do you think?

1. Chose other. It should be rebuilt, but only if Halliburton and Bechtel |
get the contracts (no-bid of course) to do the work. Their efficiency in Iraq ensures they'll get the job done on time and under budget - assuming there are requirements for either schedule or budget.

2. How can you even think about such things right now? |
I'm not normally one to tell people what they should think, feel and post, but I can't even begin to wrap my brain around what should happen 6 hours from now let alone months or years from now.
I'm sorry. I just don't get the timing of this thread, I suppose.

3. Yea JimmyJazz you're right |
Lets give it time. We have a lot of other things to think about now. Lots of death and sadness. We can worry about rebuilding somehow, somewhere later.

5. Obviously this question palls in comparison with more pressing needs but |
the timing won't be better in a month. By that time the choice will already have been made.

4. I don't live there. Not my choice. Now as for tax money - I'd rather it |
go to any rebuilding of NO - either on present site or elsewhere - then Iraq. How many weeks of Iraq money would it take to rebuild NO? 1/2 year? And the insurance companies should pay for a lot of it.
Chicago many years ago had a flood problem, so in one section of town they raise the streets up 1 buildings worth. I think they did the same in Seattle. The historic sections could probably just be pulled up.
