THIS SPEECH SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ON MONDAY!!!!!
Three days later and he's talking about task forces and committees to look into solutions. It's too late for that. That should have been done over the weekend to prepare for what was coming.

I went to bed on Sunday night expecting New Orleans to pretty much be gone by Monday afternoon as a Category 5 came right at it. I would like to think that our national leadership was making plans on how to deal with this while I slept.

3. Forgot about all the dire predictions about ANY hurricane hitting NO
for YEARS! I live on the fucking West Coast and I've heard them -- every time a hurricane went into the Gulf, it was "hopefully it'll avoid New Orleans" and EVERYONE KNEW WHY! This was neglect in my opinion, plain and simple. If the money had been spent to reinforce those levees, to plan evacuation of the ENTIRE populace (including shuttles or other public transport for people who couldn't leave on their own), this situation wouldn't have been as bad. Yes, it couldn't have been prevented completely, but it didn't have to be THIS bad.

5. Another speech should have been made--not this one
Junior's speech today was a disgrace to the office of President.

7. But, Bush is the only
one who can "keep us safe". I've heard this over and over. People, no one can keep us safe. You'll have to find a better reason to vote for a man who is way out of his depth.
You can, however, vote for a person who understands complexity, diplomacy, and is decisive (not stubborn -- there is a difference).
We're becoming a third world nation. We can't take care of our own. We're attempting empire building which is hastening our ruin. We're losing lives abroad and compromising ourselves domestically.
Welcome to Thunderdome.
Thank you, GWB.
